Helen holds dual citizenship the United States and the United Kingdom. During twenty-five years living in Europe Helen worked in England and France and was on assignment in Ireland, Norway, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, and Germany.

Helen holds a BA in English Literature from Adelphi University and an MA with Distinction in Behavioral Sciences from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She speaks conversational French.
